Christopher Allen Named Pacific Association Pitcher Of The Year

College of Marin pitcher Chris Allen received yet another award this week. Allen was named Pitcher of the Year for the Pacific Association Division by the American Baseball Coaches Association on Monday, June 25th.  The Sophomore Chicago Cubs Draftee was one of nine pitchers nationwide to receive the honor. Allen was the top pick from community colleges in California, Oregon and Washington State.

Allen enjoyed a tremendous 2018 campaign for College of Marin posting a perfect 13-0 record. Allen hurled 100.2 innings across 14 starts while recording 102 strikeouts and a Mariners record 1.34 ERA. He had two complete game shutouts on the season and was victorious in his first nine starts of the season.

Allen’s trophy case is certainly full after this year as he was Pitcher of the Year for the Bay Valley Conference, a member of the Pacific Association Northern California First Team, and a member of the Pacific Association All-America First Team.

Allen was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the 20th round of 2018 MLB Amateur Draft and will begin his professional career in the coming weeks.

The sky seems to be the limit for the Pitcher of the Year.
