College of Marin Baseball waltzed to a win on Saturday, and waltzed was an understatement. Marin failed to score in just the first and sixth innings in route to a 20-run outburst over their Bay Valley Conference rivals from Ukiah. Lost in the 20 run and 26 hit eruption by Marin was a superb start by Jackson Loder who hurled eight shutout innings in the victory.

The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the second when the runsplosion began. Marin loaded the bases with one out for Kole Morgan. Morgan lined an RBI single to put the Mariners in front 1-0. Two batters later Jacob Berg hit a bases clearing double and Anthony Pomilia followed with a double of his own to give the Mariners a 5-0 lead after two complete.

Marin continued to score at will, adding two more in the bottom of the third. Davis Barkocy and Morgan each recorded run scoring singles to put the Mariners up a touchdown 7-0. Moran, Conor Bardue, and Dionathan Cornet each had RBI hits in the fourth as the Mariners scored four more to lead 11-0. They added two more in the fifth and led by a bakers' dozen midway through the game.

After failing to score in the sixth, Marin added six more in the seventh, and a capper in the eighth for a 20 run showing on the day.

The offensive performances were too numerous to name, but Marin featured eight players with multiple hits, six with multiple runs scored and seven with multiple runs batted in.

Berg had a double, three runs scored and three RBI, Pomilia had four hits including a double with three runs scored and Bardue had three hits, four runs scored and two RBIs.

Loder was nearly perfect, as he allowed just three hits and a walk while striking out three in eight innings on the hill. Eric Woodrow closed out the game with a scoreless ninth.

The win pushed the Mariners to the top of the Bay Valley Conference with a 4-1 record and 10-10 overall.
Next up is another four-game week for Marin who have three games against Laney College and a final makeup game against the Napa Valley Storm.
