Berringer Earns Career Win No. 500, Mariners Defeat Yuba

Coach Berringer and the Mariners Baseball team stepped up to the plate for what would turn out to be a historic game. With 22 years of coaching under his belt, Coach Berringer had already proven himself to be one of the most successful coaches at the College of Marin. But today, he had a special milestone in sight: his 500th career win.

In 2000, Coach Berringer took over the baseball program. And in 2001, his leadership landed the Mariners in second place in the Bay Valley West Conference. The Mariners have finished in first place in the Bay Valley Conference seven times (2006, 2009, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018).

His leadership and impact on players stretch far beyond the field. There have been over 150 Mariners who have transferred to 4-year institutions to continue their academic and athletic careers. Under Coach Berringer’s leadership, there have been 10 Mariners drafted into the MLB.

Berringer's career record currently stands at 500 wins, 368 losses, and 5 ties with a .576 winning percentage.

The Mariners improved their conference record to 14-4 in the 17-2 win over the Yuba College 49ers.

Up Next: The Mariners will close out the regular season with a three-game series against Napa Valley College Tuesday, 4/25 @Marin, Thursday 4/27 @Napa Valley, and Friday, 4/28 @Marin.
