The College of Marin Mariners showcased their tenacity on the baseball diamond as they swept aside the Yuba College Forty-Niners in a three-game series that left no doubt about their dominance. 

Game 1: Mariners Edge Out Forty-Niners 5-4 

In the series opener on April 9, 2024, the Mariners kicked off their winning streak with a narrow 5-4 victory over Yuba College. It was a hard-fought battle, but the Mariners managed to hold off their opponents with a solid offensive performance. 

Key players for the Mariners included Lucas Schaefer, who blasted a home run and drove in three runs, and Matteo Mendoza, who contributed with three hits and an RBI. Pitcher Sebastian Elsner secured the win with an impressive relief performance, shutting down the Forty-Niners in the latter innings.

The momentum carried into the second game on April 11, as the Mariners once again emerged victorious, this time with a 5-2 win over Yuba College. Despite a resilient effort from the Forty-Niners, the Mariners' offense proved too potent to handle. 

Derek Bartram was the standout performer for the Mariners in Game 2, delivering a crucial two-run homer to help secure the win. Pitcher Jeremy Maldonado also shone, delivering a solid performance on the mound to stifle the Yuba College offense and seal the victory for the Mariners.

Matteo Bellisimo was the star of the show in Game 3, driving in an astonishing seven runs with a combination of power and precision hitting, including a mammoth home run.
