On Friday evening the College of Marin men’s basketball team (10-11, 6-3) battled against the Merritt College Thunderbirds (7-14, 2-7) and came out with a victory.  

Down by two at half-time, that didn’t stop the Mariners from playing hard in the second half. Lukas Prongos ignited the fire during the second half scoring 16 points.  

Lukas Prongos ended the game with 22 points and pulled down eight rebounds. Daniel Fagan had 18 points accompanied by seven rebounds. AJ Gilbert was also amongst the Mariners who scored double-digits with 11 points. Logan Coverson and Daniel Fagan dished out four assists each.

Coach Russell commented, "the guys have become more aware of how we execute the last 12 minutes of each game and that has contributed to our success as a team." 

The Mariners improve to 6-3 in conference play.
