Mariners Soccer Cruses to 4-0 Win At Contra Contra College

College of Marin Men's Soccer continued their excellent play of late with a commanding 4-0 victory at Contra Costa College on Friday. Peter Carroll had a hattrick and Dany Rodas was excellent with two assists and a goal of his own. The victory vaulted the Mariners into a tie for second place in the conference with a single match remaining on the schedule.

The Mariners scored early and often in the match. Marin held a two-goal advantage early on as the strike partnership of Carroll and Rodas paid multiple dividends. Rodas supplied Carroll for the opening goal of the match, and minutes later the same duo produced Carroll's second goal. Rodas scored in the first half to give the Mariners a 3-0 lead before the whistle. Abe Garcia Sessa provided the pass to Dany for the goal.

The Mariners eased off the gas in the second half, but Carroll did pounce on a lose ball in the box to record his third goal of the game. The Mariners defense held strong as Bryan Rodriguez and George Vartholomeos combined for a clean sheet in the match.

Carroll scored his 10th, 11th and 12th goals of the 2019 campaign while Rodas bagged his team leading third and fourth assists. Rodas also scored his third goal of the season while Rodriguez was credited with his fourth shutout of the year.

The Mariners improved to 4-3-2 in the BVC and 5-12-2 overall.

Marin's final match of the season is Tuesday in Kentfield as they host the Mendocino College Eagles at 1pm.
