Basketball’s Kaleah Williams Is February Co-Mariner of the Month

Sophomore Kaleah Williams was named Co-Mariner of the Month for February. The guard for the Women’s Basketball Team finished off her Mariners’ career in style. She averaged 19.2 points in her five February games and was key in her team’s two wins during that span.  

Williams opened her February with a 22-point effort in Marin’s 71-49 loss to the Yuba College 49ers on the fifth of the month.  She made three triples and added nine rebounds in the game.

A few days later Williams had one of best all around games of the year, recording a 4x5 in Marin’s 59-49 win over the Los Medanos Mustangs. She scored 16 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Williams also dished out seven assists and grabbed five steals.

Kaleah led Marin with 14 points in the Mariners’ loss to Merritt College on Valentine’s Day. She also added 11 boards, six assists, a steal and three blocks.

Williams certainly saved her best for last. On her Sophomore Night against Laney College Williams had a game to remember. In her final game, Williams recorded a team record 37 points on 15-27 shooting. She added 15 rebounds, seven assists, four steals and three blocks in Marin’s dominating 68-48 victory over the Eagles.

In the final month of her Mariner’s career, Williams averaged 19.2 points per game on 42.7% shooting. She grabbed 10.6 rebounds per game and dished out 4.4 assists. On top of that she averaged 2.8 steals and 2.0 blocks per game in February.

In 47 career games, Williams averaged 16.8 points per game on 41.3% shooting.

Williams’ final month in Black and Gold was certainly a memorable one in Kentfield.
