College of Marin women’s basketball (12-8, 4-4) we a close one against Merritt College (9-9, 4-4) on Friday night.  

The Mariners and the Thunderbirds went back and forth scoring throughout the game. Merritt guard scored a 3-pointer in the last two seconds of the second half sending College of Marin to the locker room down by 8 points.  

At the start of the second half, the Mariners stepped on the court with a sense of urgency. T Claros drained a three assisted by Isobel Crosswhite. Mariner's defense held the Thunderbirds scoreless for seven minutes in the third quarter as the Mariner take the lead 46-40 with a 13-0 run. As the Mariners and Thunderbirds traded leads in the fourth quarter, Aulani Leomiti swished a corner three to give the Mariners a three-point lead to win the game. 

T Claros’ behind-the-arch shooting played a huge role in the second half. Sophomore Captain, T Claros scored a season-high of 21 points. Isobell Crosswhite added yet another double-double, 16 points, and 10 rebounds. Aulani Leomiti also contributed 13 points and five assists.
