Mariners Stellar Offense Overtakes Monterey Peninsula

The College of Marin Women’s Basketball team (4-2) established their stamp of authority in the match-up against Monterey Peninsula College Lobos (1-4) 71-52. With 4 steals, Aulani Leomiti led the defensive front for the Mariners.  

The Mariners went into halftime with a lead of 37-21. The Lobos tried to inch themselves back into the game, both teams scored 17 in the third quarter.  

Leading scorers were sophomore point guard, Jayden Davis, 17; freshman point guard, Aulani Leomiti, 14; and sophomore post, Kayley Armstrong, 10.  

The top rebounders were freshman post, Isobel Crosswhite, 10; and Jayden Davis, 8. This was a great team win for the Mariners as all players contributed to the scoreboard.  

“Great to see our team come together and play hard for 40 minutes. Playing on the road can be challenging and we showed incredible resilience coming back in the second half.” -Coach Schaefer  

Next, The Mariners will travel to Redding, CA to face Shasta College on Sunday, November 20 at 3 pm.
