In a heated showdown against the Mendocino College Eagles, the Mariners engaged in a seesaw battle that added an extra layer of intensity to the contest. The first quarter unfolded as a trading of leads, setting the stage for a tightly contested matchup. However, it was in the second quarter that the Mariners, sparked by a dazzling pump fake and layup from Samantha Morris, found their rhythm, embarking on a blistering 13-3 run to close out the period. 

The Mariners' defensive prowess was on full display, holding the Eagles to a mere five points in the second quarter. As the clock ticked down in the closing minutes before halftime, the Eagles found themselves scoreless, a testament to the Mariners' relentless defensive efforts and strategic game plan. 

Entering the second half, the College of Marin maintained their unwavering intensity, erupting for an impressive 21 points in the third quarter. The Mariners' commitment to excellence and unyielding effort paved the way for a hard-fought victory, securing their second conference win of the season. 

Noteworthy was the collective contribution of every Mariners player who checked into the game, exemplifying the team's depth and cohesion on the court. Isobel Crosswhite continued her impressive form, notching yet another double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. A’liyah Holmes showcased her versatility in a standout performance, tallying 17 points, 6 assists, 4 rebounds, and 4 steals, highlighting her impact on both ends of the floor. 

Ty Chappell delivered a season-high performance with 16 points, accompanied by 5 assists, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals, underscoring the Mariners' balanced offensive attack. Meanwhile, Samantha Morris dominated the boards with a commanding 14 rebounds, establishing her presence in the paint and ensuring the Mariners controlled the battle for second-chance opportunities.
