Mariners Sail Past Eagles in 71-43 Victory

The College of Marin women's basketball team put on a dominating display, clinching a 71-43 victory over Mendocino College. 

The game showcased stellar performances from various players, with each member of the team contributing to the victory. A'liyah Holmes finished the game with 12 points. Isobel Crosswhite exhibited her dominance in the paint, securing an impressive 19 rebounds alongside her 15 points. 

MaTaya Sherman displayed tenacity on the boards, tallying 9 rebounds to go along with her 2 points, while Samantha Morris orchestrated the offense efficiently, dishing out 4 assists while contributing 14 points. Aulani Leomiti was a force to be reckoned with, leading the team in scoring with an outstanding 24 points, including an impressive 7 out of 14 from beyond the arc. 

Off the bench, Ty Chappell provided valuable contributions, chipping in 4 points and 6 rebounds. Despite limited minutes, Younique Wethington made her presence felt, adding a rebound and showcasing her defensive intensity. 

Collectively, the team demonstrated exceptional teamwork and cohesion, outrebounding Mendocino College 44 to 38 and forcing 15 turnovers. Their defensive efforts were particularly noteworthy, tallying 8 steals and holding Mendocino College to a mere 43 points. 

The College of Marin women's basketball team's shooting percentages were also commendable, with a field goal percentage of 35.8%, a three-point shooting percentage of 39.3%, and a free-throw percentage of 66.7%.
