Women’s Basketball Dominate in Don Barksdale Tournament

The Women's Basketball team at the College of Marin showcased their prowess in the Don Barksdale Tournament, finishing with an impressive 2-0 record. In their first game, the Mariners triumphed over Las Positas College with a commanding score of 70-54. The starting lineup shone brightly, with Gloria Seidl (17), Aulani Leomiti (12), A’liyahHolmes (10), and Isobel Crosswhite (16 points, 16 rebounds) all reaching double digits. The team exhibited seamless cohesion and well-rounded play, and freshman guard Gloria Seidl displayed remarkable accuracy from beyond the arc, going 4-5. The guards' commendable ball control was evident, with only seven turnovers.  

Day two saw the Mariners continue their dominance, overpowering the Ohlone College Renegades with a resounding 60-33 victory.   

Sophomore sensation Isobel Crosswhite had a standout performance, scoring a season-high 30 points and securing 24 rebounds, marking her 17th career double-double. A’liyahHolmes contributed significantly with four assists and two steals. Samantha Morris contributed on both ends of the floor; nine points, eight rebounds, two steals, and one assist. The Mariners' defensive prowess was evident as they held their opponent to just 33 points, the lowest of the season.  

Looking ahead, the Mariners are set to compete in the San Mateo Tournament on November 17th and 18th, building on their momentum and aiming for continued success.
