Mariners Earns Hard-Fought Win Over Yuba

On Tuesday, November 12th, the College of Marin Mariners women’s soccer team secured a 2-1 victory over Yuba College, thanks to an impressive performance by Ellie Garcia. Garcia was the standout player of the day, scoring both of Marin’s goals unassisted, giving the Mariners a commanding 2-0 lead.

Garcia’s attack was supported by midfielder Emmy Bergen, who created multiple opportunities with three shots on goal out of five attempts. Forward Hailey Poulter also added a shot on goal, keeping the pressure on Yuba’s defense throughout the match.

Defensively, Amber Lincoln stood out in goal for Marin, making an impressive 13 saves on 14 shots faced to maintain the Mariners' lead and secure the victory. The game saw a high level of intensity, despite Yuba managing to score once, it wasn’t enough to overcome the Mariners’ lead.

With this victory, Marin looks forward to hosting Contra Costa College Comets on Friday, November 15th at 3:00 PM on Pieper Field in Kentfield, CA.
