The Mariners traveled to Oakland for the Laney College Mini Tournament to play De Anza College in game 1 and Laney College in game 2. The Mariners split games, going 1-1 on the day, showing some offensive firepower, scoring a total of 30 goals on the day.
In game 1 versus De Anza College, the Mariners started off to an early lead but finished the first half trailing 8-12 and finished the game with De Anza at 19 and Marin with 14.
Maya Hunter paced the Mariners offense with 6 goals, followed by Tessa Pares with 5 goals and two assists. Maddy Vincent lead the Mariners in assists with 7 in game 1.
In game 2, versus Laney College, the Mariners doubled up the host Eagles 16-8. Hunter again lead the Mariners in scoring with 6, Kira Samson had 4 goals and 3 assists, and Meddeley Avila scored her first 2 goals of the year.
The Mariners are 3-1 on the year. Next, the Mariners will travel to Saratoga on Wednesday, October 6 to face the #1 team in Northern California, the West Valley College Vikings.
