College of Marin Women's Water Polo Team Makes a Big Splash in 3C2A Water Polo: Leading the State in Stats

The College of Marin (COM) Women's Water Polo team is making a big splash in California Community College water polo this season. The Mariners are leading the state in several statistical categories, including goals per game, shooting percentage, and steals. 

Alana McCartney is leading the charge for the Mariners' offense. She is currently first in the state in goals with 46.  

Defense has been one of the cornerstones of the Mariners' program this season. Goalkeeper Marie Fehring is currently third in the state in goalie saves with 78. There are also three Marin players in the top five in steals in the state: Alana McCartney (1st), Becca Janssen (3rd), and Lily Weires (5th).  

Next up for the Mariners is the Mt. Sac tournament on September 21-22. The Mariners are going to face off against Cypress, Miramar, Grossmont, and Palomar.
