Analysis

The Mariners had a strong showing at the Mt. Sac Mountie Invitational, going 3-1 and beating some quality opponents. Alana McCartney was the star of the tournament, leading the team in goals in all four games. She is a dynamic player who can score from anywhere in the pool, and she is also a strong defender.

The Mariners also got good contributions from other players, such as Reagan Tureson, Lily Weires, and Becca Janssen. Tureson is a versatile player who can score, assist, and defend. Weires is a strong defender and a good passer. Janssen is a physical player who is good at scoring and drawing fouls.

The Mariners' defense was also impressive at the tournament. They held three of their four opponents to single digits in goals. Marie Fehring was solid in the goal, and the Mariners also got good defense from their field players.

The Mariners' next game is against Coast Conference opponent Merced on Friday, September 29th at the Miwok Aquatics Center at 11AM.
