The Mariners maintained a slim 11-9 lead deep into the fourth quarter, but Modesto College executed a stunning comeback, netting two unassisted goals to level the score at 11-11. Despite a valiant effort, the Mariners couldn't hold off the Pirates, and the match ended in a hard-fought 11-13 loss.

The Mariners' spirits remained unbroken as they entered their second match against Santa Rosa Junior College. The team seized control of the game from the start, utilizing impeccable ball movement and disciplined defensive structures. The Mariners showcased their superiority, outscoring Santa Rosa with a resounding 20-7 victory.
