A tight game came down to the final minutes as Marin ended up on the wrong side of the ledger as Los Medanos made key shots down the stretch to take a 62-57 win.
Both Marin and Laney dressed just five players each, leading to an entertaining but also exhausting 40 minutes of basketball. While the Mariners held the upper hand early, Laney rallied back and upended Marin by a score of 60-37.
Marin held a six point lead halfway through the fourth quarter, but the numbers caught up to them and they fell to visiting Mendocino College by a score of 77-69.
A sluggish first half put Marin down by 22 at the half, and while they played almost even in the second half, the deficit was too much to overcome as they lost 81-56.
Despite 34 points from Freshman Forward Amari Allison, College of Marin was unable to overcome of the offensive rebounding of Monterey Peninsula College and fell 67-57 on Wednesday evening.
While Marin took a 41-40 lead in the third quarter, fatigue once again proved to be the culprit, as Cabrillo College responded and pulled out the 68-56 victory in regulation.
The College of Marin Women’s Basketball team finished the game with only three players in an overtime loss to Cabrillo College on the final day of November, 75-63.
Just 48 hours after leaving Wednesday’s game with an ankle injury, College of Marin’s Amari Allison showed no ill effects as she powered the Mariners past Skyline College on Friday evening in Kentfield by an overtime score of 83-74.
The five brave Mariners did their best to keep up with their opponents of Lassen, but fatigue eventually overcame desire, as Marin fell 68-48 on Friday.
Marin dressed only six players to take on the Las Positas College Hawks and managed to hold a narrow lead entering the fourth quarter. Unfortunately, injuries and fouls forced the Mariners to end the game with only three, as they fell 67-56.
The first half went well with both teams battling back and forth, however the second half was all Gavilan as Marin was unable to keep up and fell 60-41.
